5 O'Clock Shadow Goes Forward - The Preparation

Spring is springing and there is no better time to make yourself feel extra fresh than an extra close shave that will see you all the way through to 5 o’clock.

To begin the shaving process and ensure your skin and beard hair is at optimum hydration, take a shower or gently clean your face with warm soapy water. This step not only means you will get a closer shave, but you are also reducing the chances of blemishes. A clean face that has had a light wash provides the perfect canvas for wet shaving.

Using the Edwin Jagger Hydrating Pre-Shave Lotion, softens your beard hair and adds a layer of protection for your skin, massage the lotion in circular motions onto your face and really get into the skin underneath your stubble.

Man applying lather with shaving brush

Shaving brushes do much more than just apply the lather. The bristles gently work to exfoliate your skin, stimulate and soften the hair and create an even distribution of lather. Hair and skin that is prepped well and super softened will make for a much easier shave.

This is where the fun begins.

With your shaving cream or soap of choice, alongside an Edwin Jagger Synthetic Shaving Brush, whip your cream or soap into a lather and smoosh onto your face. Why not make the most of this time, lean into the experience; use the brush to massage your face and just keep going until you have a solid white layer over the desired area.

Stay tuned for the next instalment.
