Suwada

Suwada

With roots in the town of Sanjo and inspired by the traditional craft of swordmaking, Suwada have been drawing upon the famed local talents of blacksmithery to create cutting edge grooming tools since 1926. Specialising in the production of manicure and pedicure instruments, bonsai shears, and kitchen tools, the excellent reputation they've worked hard to build across the years has now expanded to worldwide recognition, with stores across Asia, North America, Europe, and of course, Japan.

Each and every product developed by Suwada is lovingly handcrafted by a skilled craftsperson, drawing upon years of expert Japanese craftmanship to create edged tools that are designed to be of the highest working quality, alongside being aesthetically pleasing, to achieve their vision of creating products that can only be described as sheer perfection. The sharpness of the tools they design are unparalleled by any other.

Their dedicated commitment to creating such highly renowned tools has led to them receiving the Good Design Award on numerous occasions over the many years they’ve been designing and creating quality instruments.

Suwada Nail Tools

The English Shaving Company are proud to be stocking several of Suwada's nail nippers and files, all beautifully designed to carry out their primary aim of achieving the perfect finish when trimming nails. Each design is crafted with curved blades to fit the shape of the nails of each and every individual using one of their products.

These specialist tools carry the ability to cut any nail type, including nails that are particularly thick, ingrown, or misshapen, making them a popular choice for both household and professional use alike.

All of Suwada’s nail clippers are crafted using high-carbon stainless steel rods, smelted in Japan. They are forged by hand, using specialist equipment to achieve high temperatures and enough pressure to create products that contain around 30% of raw materials. The clippers are finished by hand to ensure every last detail - from the fine polish to the sharpness of the clipper - meets the expected requirements to live up to Suwada’s prestigious reputation.
