Not one for leaving reviews generally but after receiving a 6C for Christmas I'm a little underwhelmed: the plate concept is interesting (only getting a really smooth result using plate 5/6 though) and the head is a good weight, but the handle is too light for the head in my opinion, the chrome seems 'thin' and the supplied blades are not great; binned and swapped to Gillettes after first use.

Started DE shaving at the start of the year after getting dispondant with the quality and price of cartridge razors. Also the plastic waste was part of me changing. After reviewing de razors I decided to start with Edwin Jagger de89. I found it really good to use but could be a little aggressive for my skin with sharper blades. This led me to research adjustable razors. Reviews on this razor were excellent, so I decided to try it. Very happy with this razor. Weight is perfect. Been adjustable has helped going against the grain for bbf. No nicks yet. Still trying a variety of blades. Highly recommended.

I have the 6C white chrome (home) and the 2C gunmetal (for travel) they are both exceptional. Great weight and comfortable shave. The handle could be a touch longer for me though. Exceptional product and good price and service from English Shaving.

The secret to DE Shaving is in using the arm to move the razor around the face and to lock the wrist so as to maintain a constant angle of the blade to the face.
After that it’s a question of type of blade and degree of blade exposure on the razor.
The beauty of the Rockwell 6C is the ability to adjust blade exposure and find a setting which gives you the optimum comfort and closeness of shave without razor burn.
I find the number 2 or 3 plate with a good blade (a very personal choice) gives a perfect shave. Very close.
I have 12 razors ranging from very expensive to cheap but by no means nasty.
The Rockwell performs as well as my most expensive razors and ultimately it’s down to technique and practice as to the effectiveness of your chosen razor.
The Rockwell is the perfect choice for gaining technique as it encourages finding the correct blade angle and the various plates provided means it will cater for all beard types.
A good brush and some luxury shaving cream and the job of shaving becomes a joy.
I find the build quality of the Rockwell, whilst not as high as my more expensive razors, is perfectly adequate to ensure long life of the razor.
Buy with confidence or spend a little more on the 6S all stainless.
You can’t go wrong with either.

- Perfectly balanced razor at an optimal price

I highly recommend this razor; for me a number three plate and a Pol Silver blade makes the perfect combination for my skin. I love the quality feel and weight in addition the chrome plating is both good quality and adds the extra slickness I prefer.

- Great Piece of Kit

My first foray into shaving with a safety razor and I couldn’t be happier. The razor is great quality and being able to adjust the aggressiveness of the blade is great. Using the R1 plate is a nice start but you won’t be long in moving up the grades. Nice piece of kit.

Great razor for shaving different areas. I use 3 or 4 for lower legs, 2 for upper legs and 4 or 5 for under arms. This razor has a very substantial feel and the grip is good, even with wet hands. Love the blades that come with it. I just wish the handle was a bit longer.
