Lea Classic Shaving Soap in Wooden Bowl 100g

Product Review (submitted on 23 April 2020):

This is awesome stuff, I really like it and will be buying more. It is large puck of hard soap that seems like it will last a good long while. This soap has a really nice smell, the menthol is very light, and it provides everything you need for a good shave - the lather is durable, slick, controllable, and leaves my skin feeling good.

I want to speak to the issue of lathering because some reviews have said this can be tricky to lather. I had no issue, and do not find this to be any harder (easier, actually) than any other hard soap. I have lathered with badger and boar, and had no issues with either. Like any new product it might take two or three tries to get the water dialed in, and of course the brush makes a big difference (my 26mm extra density silvertip holds a ton more water, even squeezed out, than any boar or synthetic, for example) but I would not be afraid at all of having difficulty getting a great lather Fromm this soap. Anyone who says that they cannot get this to lather or has a thin lather that collapses is using too much water, not enough soap or time lathering, or a combination of both issues. Definitely not the soap's fault.

Finally, the bowl is very nice and worth the extra money on the first buy. It is thick walled, well-finished in every way, and the soap fits in it perfectly (unlike, say, MWF, which has about a 1/4 inch gap inside of its' bowl).

For reference I like the tallow soaps (although this is not one of them, fyi), I use MWF, Tabac, DRH, and I use the prorasso creams and various Italian croats. this is as good as any of them and the combination of scent and skin goodies in the soap make it unique.
