Lascaray S.A is one of the oldest companies in Spain, founded in 1823. They later went on to become “La Estrella Alavesa” (Lea), and now make world renowned shaving products, suitable for all skin types. The Lea Classic Shaving Soap in Wooden Bowl (100Gr) is a popular shaving soap, designed to protect sensitive skin during shaving.
This shaving soap is formulated using a combination of refreshing ingredients, including sandalwood, lanolin, glycerin, bisabolol and menthol. All of these ingredients are suitable for even the most sensitive of skin, making this product ideal for all wet shaving enthusiasts.
When used with a high-quality shaving brush, this product will produce a rich lather. The beard will be sufficiently softened and therefore the face will be highly protected from potential cuts and irritation.
This product pairs well with the Lea classic range of after shave products, such as the Lea Classic After Shave Lotion. The combination of the two will leave you with a satisfyingly close shave and a refreshed and moisturised face.
As the ingredients would suggest, the shaving soap has a pleasant aroma of sandalwood and moss and has been described as ‘original and masculine’. The menthol creates a comfortable, warming effect.
For best results, apply shaving brush directly to soap and lather up well. Avoid contact with eyes.
Due to their rich history, Lea have an excellent knowledge and understanding of traditional wet shaving products and are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to provide state-of-the-art shaving products for optimal shaving performance.
This product is part of the high-end Lea Classic range of products and is displayed in a hand-turned dark beechwood wooden bowl. The attractive nature of this product means it is a great addition to the shelf of any wet shaving enthusiast.
It is packaged in a sealed cardboard box to protect it during transit and features elegant and stylish Lea branding for authenticity.

- Fantastic Soap!
This is awesome stuff, I really like it and will be buying more. It is large puck of hard soap that seems like it will last a good long while. This soap has a really nice smell, the menthol is very light, and it provides everything you need for a good shave - the lather is durable, slick, controllable, and leaves my skin feeling good.
I want to speak to the issue of lathering because some reviews have said this can be tricky to lather. I had no issue, and do not find this to be any harder (easier, actually) than any other hard soap. I have lathered with badger and boar, and had no issues with either. Like any new product it might take two or three tries to get the water dialed in, and of course the brush makes a big difference (my 26mm extra density silvertip holds a ton more water, even squeezed out, than any boar or synthetic, for example) but I would not be afraid at all of having difficulty getting a great lather Fromm this soap. Anyone who says that they cannot get this to lather or has a thin lather that collapses is using too much water, not enough soap or time lathering, or a combination of both issues. Definitely not the soap's fault.
Finally, the bowl is very nice and worth the extra money on the first buy. It is thick walled, well-finished in every way, and the soap fits in it perfectly (unlike, say, MWF, which has about a 1/4 inch gap inside of its' bowl).
For reference I like the tallow soaps (although this is not one of them, fyi), I use MWF, Tabac, DRH, and I use the prorasso creams and various Italian croats. this is as good as any of them and the combination of scent and skin goodies in the soap make it unique.
