- The best soap for the buck
Very nice and gentle English soap. Excellent value for the money. Puck is long-lasting. Shaving properties are great. No burning or irritations whatsoever. Making lather is not too complicated, just load enough soap. Scent is so-so, subtle and pleasant.
TheEnglishShavingCompany's service is excellent.

- Excellent stuff now I have finally got round to trying it.
Lovely stuff. I used this from a plastic bowl. Really nice shave. Distinctive but understated scent. Good lather and wonderful feeling after the shave is complete.
I have used several Taylors of Old Bond Street creams such as avocado and rose - which are now rather pricy. My standard stuff is Boots soap or lather cream or Palmolive stick. I do not obsessively buy shaving soaps and creams but Mitchell's had a good reputation and I am very pleased with it.
The Mitchell's is noticeably better than what I have used before. I would buy this again.

Heard a lot of positive things about this soap. Finally ordered one, thanks to TESC’s low shipping charges. Broke out the puck from it’s card board packing and put it in a slightly oversize glass bowl. Used my vie-long white horse hair butter scotch brush to lather. The soap is neither too soft nor too stiff. Half a minute of swirling produced enough lather for me. The lather is of medium consistency. Applied the lather and waited for a minute. The lather sort of dried out. Reapplied with a little water and shaved using Muhle R89 CC razor. I was able to extract a good enough shave with passes ( WTG and XTG). The smell is floral and subdued.
