If you are sensitive, opt for the Edwin Jagger Aloe Vera Aftershave Lotion. It will soothe and hydrate your skin. Hydration is a crucial step in the shaving journey, start with a shower and the hydrating pre shave and end with more hydration. You really can’t have too much of the stuff when wet shaving.

Similarly, to the razor and razor blade combination, the steps you take to help your skin recover post shave will be up to you and what you like. For myself, I also take into consideration the time of year and how the weather and temperature will affect my skin. Often, I use a balm or oil in the wintertime to really insulate the moisture into my skin. As the clocks go forward and we move into the summertime, I will transition into using something lighter like aftershave lotions, moisturisers or even splashes. My favourite for this time of year is the Edwin Jagger Limes and Pomegranate Aftershave Lotion, not only does a little go a long way, the fresh zesty fragrance puts a real spring in the step.

If you do happen to cut yourself, be sure to dab it with a damp Alum Block, this will immediately stop any bleeding and help your skin to heal. Be prepared for a sharp sensation but, I am sure it won’t sting as much as waking up an hour earlier!
