Derby DE Razor Blades (5 Pack) are high-quality razor blades manufactured in Turkey, sold in packs of five.
All DE razor blades are a standardised size and shape and will therefore fit any double edge safety razor you own. Razor blade preference is very personal to each invidual and a period of trial and error usually helps to determine which band is best suited to your skin.
Derby Blades are described as giving a relatively mild shave when paired up with a high-quality double edge razor and shaving cream, well suited to regular shavers with finer hair and those who look for a smooth shave over a sharp shave.
All razor blades go through an extensive manufacturing process, starting off as long strips of stainless steel that go through several processes in order to create the fine, sharp blades that are easy and enjoyable to shave with. Once crafted, all blades go through strict quality control tests to ensure they are ideal for consumer use.
Using advanced equipment, the edges of Derby blades are deposited with chromium ceramic, strengthening the edges and thus increasing the longevity of each blade. They are finished with a polymer coating to give it a smooth finish.
Razor blades should be replaced regularly to allow them to continue performing well, ensuring they are changed before they start to drag across the skin. How long you find a blade to last is dependent on personal preference and how the blades are stored. Some may find the need to change blades less often than others, but typically blades that are replaced after two to three shaves provide a closer shave and have less chance of causing injury, such as skin irritation and razor burn.
The blades are packaged in a small plastic container to protect them during transit. The container features a pouch where used blades can be placed to be disposed of in future. Alternatively, the used blades can be safely recycled in a blade disposal tin or a makeshift tin of your preference.
Each blade is wrapped in waxed paper to avoid any accidental injury when taking them out of the box.
Take care when handling, understandably they are very sharp!

I cut myself a fair bit with feather blades so I thought I’d try something milder. These were still plenty close for my taste and irritation and cuts are much reduced. Good value too.

- Good for newbies like me but should rethink their packaging.

I’m new to double edge shaving and after trying the free blades I received with my new Rockwell razor I then tried these. A good shave with little to criticise, no nicks or razor burn and very pleased with the result. I will be experimenting with other blades until I find the blades I prefer, but for now these will be my fallback blades. New to double edged shavers like me may be put off by the plastic packaging. Some people choose de shaving because of the amount of plastic on cartridge blades. I’m sure Derby can do better hence the medium score on quality.

There are sooo many other blades out there in the same price zone that are just better in every way. For me this are not smooth and do not last past two shaves without becoming too uncomfortable to use. The Derby Premiums are a much better blade if you like Derby.

I’ve tried various brands since I changed to a double edged razor and I keep returning to these. Smooth shave and at a great price. Hold their edge well and don’t start scratching like many other brands.

- They always give me a good close shave without dragging the skin. If I couldn’t get any other blade it wouldn’t upset me.

You see Derby blades a lot in barbers’ shops so they must have a decent reputation.

- Good, no nonsense blade. After many years absent from a traditional safety razor, I find these blades more than sharp enough to retrain my hand.

Good value for money. Shame about the plastic container in this age but is useful if travelling

- Better than I thought
-
I was using Wilkinson Sword blades before but for some reason the shops in my area had none in stock so I thought I would give these a try as they was cheaper and got the 5 pack deal, I'm glad I did because TBH I find them just as good if not better TBH than Wilkinson and with deals you can get on here it's more cheaper so will carry on buying here.

anyone who knows their way around DE blades will know these are some of the best available, nice packaging for disposal too, great sharp blades, always smooth and all around great value.
They are less forgiving than some, so if you're new, probably start on Astras, Gillette or Wilkinson Sword like I did, then move to these once you're comfortable.Quality Price Value

Great value blades. Reasonably sharp and each lasts me a week. Not that I have a thick beard but I reckon I could almost make two weeks at a pinch. Which is excellent value for the money

Haven't tried many blades, but I've always suffered from irritation on neck and so far these give a good shave with the least irritation. I'm recommend if you have sensitive skin.

First time out with Derby blades - I found them to provide a gentle and effective shave. Good valve, with a plastic pack that allows storage for used razor blades.

They will not be the sharpest or the best as quality but they guarantee a good shave with little irritation and have an excellent quality / price ratio.

Very smooth blades but not as sharp as I'd like it's very good for those with fine facial hair but mine is very wirey type so takes some cutting so I personally prefer feather.Quality Price Value

I tried astra, personna platinum and feather. Derby is number one for merkur futur

- Does dull after a while but good value for money
-
I prefer my blades to dull slightly faster to give my skin a chance to survive against accidental cuts, it takes around 6-7 shaves before I feel like it needs to be replaced but that's good enough for me :)

- I find these blades don't nick or cut me like others I have tried. I can get 5 shaves out of a blade, but honestly you may want to change them more frequently. These are the blades I soley use now.
