I bought this for travel and it works well. I have yet to use the soap and so can't comment upon whether it is worth it compared to that. In comparison to a cheap tube of shave gel it produced a much closer shave, but doesn't lather much. The scent is pleasant enough and not overpowering. I have bought a bowl of the soap version having used this for home use.
