Edwin Jagger is Europe's foremost manufacturer of luxury handmade shaving equipment. Edwin Jagger products are crafted and hand assembled in Sheffield England, a city known for its rich industrial history. The Edwin Jagger DE86 Black DE Safety Razor is a high-quality closed comb double edge safety razor.

This double edge safety razor is fitted with the classic Edwin Jagger DE Head, which has been popular amongst the wet shaving community for many years. The closed comb head is expertly engineered and finished with a high-quality chrome plate. It has an excellent reputation for the expert level of shaving it achieves.

The classic Edwin Jagger closed comb razor head is praised for being an excellent choice for those trying traditional shaving for the first time, whilst remaining a firm favourite of those who are more experienced.

When used with any standard DE razor blade and quality shaving cream or soap, this razor will produce a close and accurate shave often compared to that of a straight razor.

The handle is finished with a polished black coating, giving the razor a particularly pleasant aesthetic.

The handle length of the razor is approximately 85mm, with the overall length of the razor measuring approximately 95mm.

This product includes one free Feather Hi-Stainless DE Safety Razor Blade to get you started. Feather Blades are the preferred pairing recommended by Edwin Jagger as the sharpness of the blade paired with the head offers a comfortable, clean shave.

The blades can be recycled after use, making this product a popular choice for those looking for a waste free method of shaving.

All Edwin Jagger products are finished off with a thorough quality check and packed securely in attractive Edwin Jagger packaging, allowing for safe and secure delivery.

Buy one with a more grippy handle
I'm a beginner migrating from plastic and I found the problem with this razor is that it the handle, being completely round and smooth, is very slippery. If you are very careful to keep your hand and the handle dry, it's great. Much easier than I expected to shave with, apart from this. Similar things might be cheaper elsewhere but it's good quality.

Slippery handle
I regret buying this safety razor. The handle is really slippery when wet. I've already let it fall twice in just a few days of use.

I should have bought the rubber coated version, or spend a little more for the octagonal handle or the knurled Chrome 3D Diamond. I wanted a black one to match the other items of my shaving set, but the classic knurled chrome version is a better design.

Aside from the handle, it is really a great razor. I was using an old razor that I've bought used and it is a world apart. It has a great head, gives me close shaves, no burns, and make it easy to shave just under the nose. My old one razer has a butterfly design that is easier to change tha blade.

The product took a long time to ship to Brazil, but arrived fine. Good packaging.

No need to pay crazy prices for razors.
I was tired of paying a fortune for Gillette razors so I decided to go old school and once you adapt to the razor there's really no problem. Save yourself money and do the same.

Great value for money!
It's my 2nd Edwin Jagger Razor, and I like them very much.
The build quality is excellent, but the top plate is very fragile. (but replaceable)

First time DE shaver.
This was the first razor I have purchased to wet shave with. I must say the experience is very enjoyable and that the product is great. The Razer has a nice weight to it, not too light or heavy for me with a very nice non slip handle making the shave a pleasure. For a first time user it is perfect as the shave is not too aggressive however I am not sure how it compares to other razors as this is my first one. It is nice and easy to change the blades, the razor only comes with one blade so you will want to buy more. I am very happy with this razor. Thanks!

Will never use plastic land fillers again.....
It's been a few years since I used a traditional razor , and that was wasted time. This is a great razor, it feels quality and is balanced. Modern multi bladed plastic land fillers are just trying to reinvent the wheel, when a traditional razor does a great job, with minimal waste and is cheaper in the long run. Great delivery time and service.

Great shaver - won’t go back to plastic disposable heads
I thought I would move to the old style razor - cut down on plastic in those replaceable heads.

Really pleased, no cuts or nicks, let the weight of the shave head do the work - much easier than I thought and a much better shave - highly recommended

You have to see it in person to believe the quality of the thing
Love the fact that it has new pommel with "Sheffield" engraved like it is on pictures. Looks extremely cool and way more stylish than the older design.
Quality is outstanding, can't believe such a beautiful thing can cost so little. While installing a blade there is almost no play so no alignment issues, unless you're paranoid.
One thing though - feather blades are just too sharp for beginners like me, you have to be careful not to apply too much pressure, otherwise your skin will burn for the whole day.
With duller blades like rapira you can shave even drunk, no problem

Practice makes perfect
I've never previously used a DE razor to shave with but decided to try a change. This is a well made razor but years of using a Gillette have conditioned me to a longer handle and I'd recommend going for that. The shave result is good but my skin does show a bit more reaction. Practice may be the main issue here. It's easier with a DE to get the awkward bits done, like close to the nostrils. I'm pleased with it and will keep going.

Groovy first razor, maybe get one with a longer handle.
I was just about sick of paying daft Gillette replacement razor prices and thought I'd give ol' traditional a go after my step son was raving about it, and this is what I chose as my first razor!

And it's ace! The handle is a little shorter than what I'm used to but loving the weight. The wife said it would "shred my face" but far from it - it's been fine. As the head comes completely apart it's really easy to give it a very thorough clean too.

...and am I missing the "lube strip" and those 4 or 5 other blades? Nah, if anything one single blade is all you need.

Top piece of kit which at some point will become my "travel razor" and I'll buy another with a longer handler I reckon.
