Abbate Y La Mantia Garibaldi Aftershave is the newest fragrance from Abbate Y La Mantia of Tuscany, Italy. It pairs with their Garibaldi shaving soap and contains crocus sativus extract (saffron).
It's named after Garibaldi, a rugged hero of history, who spent much time at sea and is famous for helping to unify modern Italy. This is a vintage, spicy and exotic aroma that brings to mind adventures in unfamiliar places.
"Just like that you’re sitting on the bow of a ship on a moonless night. You feel the salty scent of wood, the taste of tobacco on your tongue and the scent of tropical fruits and nuts coming from the hold."
The alcohol used in this is organic vegetable alcohol from barley fermentation; it leaves you with a very pleasant sensation on the skin and a rich feeling of contact with nature.
The main aspects of this scent are tobacco from Kentucky and the 'waves of the Mediterranean Sea' via pungent sea salt; it's a wonderfully mature scent of fresh fruit, wood and tobacco fermentation.
This aftershave splash arrives in a vintage looking brown cardboard box with AYLM branding. The bottle itself is double glass with an anti-UV patent. This is because AYLM believe their essences deserve to be protected so as not to affect the perfect balance of ingredients - this company really do go above and beyond with their products and packaging.
Also, because of the saffron extract, this aftershave becomes a natural disinfectant and restores subcutaneous microcirculation. It has a microfilming effect and creates a barrier against pollutants and UV rays.
